During their November meeting the Board approved the following donation requests:
The Ankeny Service Center coordinates the distribution of gift certificates, toys, gifts, and food to families in need in the Ankeny community during the holiday season. A donation of $750 will assist with the purchase and distribution of thee items.
Dollars for Scholars has distributed over $1,078,240 in scholarships over the past 35 years to Ankeny high school seniors. The club approved a donation of $2,000 to be divided into four scholarships of $500 each to be given to two students at each Ankeny High school. As part of the criteria for winning the scholarships, at least one scholarship in each high school must have attended RYLA been a Rotary Youth Exchange student or have a connection to a Rotarian such as a child or grandchild of a Rotarian.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will be having their annual Team in Training bike ride in Tucson on November 18th. Mark Martin and his family will be participating in this event. The club agreed to support them with a $500 contribution.
