The Rotary Club of Ankeny has been awarded a Presidential Citation for 2017-18 from Rotary International President Ian Riseley. Since this Citation refers to the last Rotary year when Sally Schroeder was president, 2018-2019 President Ben Digmann presented the citation to Sally during the noon meeting on November 6th. This recognition is given to clubs that successfully achieve goals in the areas of Membership, Foundation Giving, Online Tool Adoption, Humanitarian Service, New Generations and Public Image. The certificate reads: "2017-2018 Rotary Citation from the RI President Awarded to the Rotary Club of Ankeny for helping Rotary make a difference in the lives of people all over the world."
There are 65 clubs in District 6000. Ankeny was one of six clubs in the District to receive a Presidential Citation for last year. This is the third year in a row the Rotary Club of Ankeny has achieved this award. In 2015-2016 the club was one of only 3 in District 6000 to qualify. In 2016-2017, the Rotary Club of Ankeny was the only club of the 66 clubs in District 6000 to qualify for the Presidential Citation.
