The 2024 Ankeny Chamber's Annual Dinner was held on February 15th. Several individuals were recognized for their hard work in making Ankeny a better place to live. Two of the award recipients are Ankeny Rotarians. Tony Mills was recognized as the "Employee of the Year", and Doug Beech was named the recipient of the "Lifetime Impact Award".
Tony is the owner of Apex Sway and an integral person in the Karl Auto Group. He was described as having a huge heart for Ankeny and being vital to its continuous success. He is a person of action and can be seen all over The District at Prairie Trail working multiple events. He strives to make Ankeny a better place to live, work, and play.
Doug received this prestigious award for over 30 years of accomplishments and contributions to the Ankeny including Church, Rotary, Civil Service commission, Ankeny Economic Development Corporation, variety of Iowa Board of Directors, Greater Des Moines Partnership, Economic Development Board, Iowa Business Council, Polk County Tax Credit Association, and Iowa Association of Business & Industry. He also acted as co-chair of the Ankeny Market Pavilion and was chair of the Ankeny Chamber.
