Amy's Journal entry about noon on Monday, October 3rd:
I apologize for taking a few days off from updating. It's been an adjustment getting Damon back home but definitely worth it! He's doing well & can I tell he's much more comfortable here. The home nurse came for the first time on Thursday and checked him out and helped change drains & dressings. She will come back again today for the same thing & will continue the Monday/Thursday routine. Physical therapy came on Friday & will be here 2 days a week as well. He's getting up & walking quite a bit and spending time sitting in different places of the house. This afternoon we plan to go outside to get some fresh air on the deck. Damon's feeding tube got clogged on Saturday. The on call nurse & I tried all the tricks to unclog but no luck. So, the doctors said to eat, eat, eat and he's done pretty well. He enjoyed some chicken & noodles, hamburger, cheesy potatoes, ham sandwiches & some eggs this am. We've also been supplementing with protein shakes. Overall, he's doing well at home. It's so great to have him here & the boys love having their dad around. Please keep sending those prayers for strength & patience as we are taking small steps. We love all of you & are so thankful for your support!
