Gary Welch, representing the Rotary District 6000 leadership, had the honor of presenting to past president Carmen Davis with a certificate indicating the Rotary Club of Ankeny had received a Presidential Citation for the Rotary year 2016-2017. This recognition is given to clubs that successfully achieve goals in the areas of Membership, Foundation Giving, Online Tool Adoption, Humanitarian Service, New Generations and Public Image. The certificate reads:
"2016-2016 Presidential Citation awarded to the Rotary Club of Ankeny for helping Rotary make a difference in the lives of people all over the world."
This is the second year in a row the Club has achieved this distinction. In 2015-2016 the club was one of only 3 in District 6000 to qualify. Last year, 2016-2017, the Rotary Club of Ankeny was the only club of the 66 clubs in District 6000 to qualify for the Presidential Citation.
