One of the three paddle raisers at the club's 2018 fundraiser, "Rotary Olympics" was FUEL, "Filling Up Every Learner".  Ankeny Superintendent of Schools, Bruce Kimpston was in attendance at the March 13th noon meeting to accept a check for proceeds of the paddle raiser in the amount of $2,640.  
 
To experience maximum learning, students need nutritious food but according to a report from United Way, 31% of households struggle to support themselves.  They are either living below that poverty line or considered "Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed".  FUEL offers parents access to a paid student lunch program until they are equipped to again pay for their lunches.
